I Love Working at Load.com, Even on Days Like Today

First, let me start this by saying that there are days where I want to just run out the front door and keep going till I find a good restaurant with poor cell phone service. But, even on those days, I am sincerely grateful to have an opportunity to do what I do for our clients.  Yes, I know that sounds cheesy and reading back over this statement sort of makes me gag.  What I also enjoy is getting the opportunity, on occasion, to work directly with some of our customers and even our customer's customers as in the case of Sign*A*Rama and InfoSearch Media.  There's nothing like direct, honest feedback from the people/businesses you're trying to so hard to serve and deliver a quality service to.  Thank you for your patience and support.

Because of our commitment to our clients and the invaluable feedback we get from customers -- good and bad -- we have decided to start Load.net.  AND in an attempt to join the legions of bloggers that are now openly talking about what's going on at work and, in essence, leaving themselves naked to the world, I am creating the first of many blog entries that are sure to get more sarcastic, cynical, and hopefully insightful.  My entries will shed some light into what's going on at Load.com and what in the heck is going on in Nick's mind.  WHOA!

What happened today that was so bad?
First, we had an overabundance of phone calls relating to our hosted e-mail service, LoadMail.  While a number of calls were positive and very simple technical support issues, some were actually related to a glitch occurring in our cluster of servers.  To make a long story short, we got the issue resolved and no mail was lost (great job team).  That said, it was also nice to know that we have an open and honest relationship with the vast majority of our customers.  When calls came in and we told them what was going on (which was the truth), we didn't get a lot of backtalk.  Thank you to our clients/subscribers of the LoadMail service as we worked through these issues and got you back up and running quickly.

Second, today was one of those non-stop days where no matter how hard you worked you always felt behind.  There's just not enough hours in the day.

Third, it became official that I did lose the NCAA Tournament Challenge to Jan Dover who also happened to smoke all of the men in our office pool.  Those of you that know Jan, be sure to congratulate her on a resounding victory.

So, Nick, who do you like this season in Major League Baseball?
Good question. Well, first I must admit that I love watching Barry Bonds hit, so I'm rooting for him.  However, Ian Jones, the resident baseball expert at Load.com plainly said today, "Damn, the Giants are old."  So, I don't see them taking the crown.  So, since I am originally from Hawaii and grew up on the West Coast, naturally, I'm pulling for the Minnesota Twins. Huh?  What can I say, I like the small market teams and Johan Santana is the best pitcher in baseball.

Well, I hope to see many of our customers in the Load.net community and hope that you'll stop by and drop me a line.  Thanks for checking out my blog and next time you're in Vegas, be sure to Get Loaded!

Regarding A-Rod, the guy is such an under-appreciated player for New York.  I'm not about to say that a single player is worth $25M a year, but then again I wasn't complaining when MJ was getting roughly $30M per season with the Bulls.  Needless to say, A-Rod seems to be getting in rhythm and I'm sure he will have an MVP type season.  The guy hit another come from behind game winning 3-run JACK at Yankee Stadium yesterday.  Only can an All-Star among all-stars be so undervalued.  Honestly I think its hilarious how New York is all about what have you done for me lately.  I guess the MVP his first season wasn't enough.  The guy doesn't pitch so he couldn't solve their problem last season and well, they still don't have any pitching.  Great pitching always beats great hitting and when the time comes, they will face great pitching in the playoffs, in the playoffs I repeat, and the Yanks will tumble again.  You have agreed with me numerous times on this fact, and that is that when the Yanks were winning all of the championships, that team had role players and had pretty darn good pitching.  I look at it like this, there is a reason the All-Star games aren't as high scoring as the average MBL fan would like to see.  The All-Star hitters are facing All-Star pitching!  Duh!

This BoSox-Yanks series this weekend should be alot of fun, and should give great insight into this seasons drama between these 2 clubs.  Prediction for this series (soley based off of pitching for both teams) BoSox win it 2 games to 1 with Dice-K dealing.
