Managed Service Provider

Managed Service Provider

A managed service provider is a company that manages IT services online. These services can be accessed remotely. A managed service provider does not necessarily take the place of an IT manager in a business. Someone still has to be a liaison between the service provider and a business's network--but many of the IT responsibilities can be handled by the service provider rather than in-house.

For example, a managed service provider may provide an email service and management system. The service will handle server upgrades and maintenance. If one doesn't hire a managed service provider, there tasks would be managed by the IT staff. At the same time, an IT manager will have to help employees start up email accounts and answer any questions about sending and receiving email.

With a managed service provider, the IT manager can be freed up to work on other issues. In certain cases, an IT manager won't be needed often at all--email management can be performed on a part-time basis. All told, a managed service provider can save companies money on both the number of IT staff and the number of hours the staff works in a typical day.

In most businesses, an IT staff has to work at double-speed. An overextended IT staff is prone to mistakes and slow-downs so employees are left waiting until the IT staff can tackle a specific issue. As a result, businesses are choosing managed service providers for a number of different tasks. What makes Load.com's services particularly effective is that they combine both DNS management and email management with the same service provider. This is a much easier system for the resident IT staff to handle. Both these major concerns can be handled using the same easy interface.
